The Canberra Photographic Society offers a full and varied program organised around monthly themes. Regular monthly competitions usually accept entries into an Open category or a Set Topic Category.
The Society also conducts two competitions a year that are based around the entry of a small portfolio of images (The Hedda Morrison Printed Portfolio Competition and the Bica Projected Image Competition, both sponsored by Teds Camera Store).
The first and last meetings of the year have no Set Topic categories. The first meeting of the year (first Tuesday in February) is Open only. The last meeting of the year (first Tuesday in December) is the Annual Awards Showcase, which aims to celebrate member achievements and recognise the best images of the year.
